Word of the year – LOVE

Wow… it’s been a long time since I’ve blogged! But one of my goals for the year is to make it a habit to blog again, so here goes.

This year, I have decided to dedicate my year to love. Loving God, loving other people, loving life, and loving myself.

Love is important for everyone, it’s one of our needs as humans. We all want to feel loved and appreciated. So my word of the year is l o v e.

I’ve always had a rough relationship with God. I’ll forget to pray or will put off reading my bible. This year though, I am going to make more of a conscious effort to work on my relationship with Him.

I’ve never had a problem loving other people. It comes naturally to me. I always seek out the best, love hard, and give much. It’s just who I am. This year, I will work on loving people the way they NEED to be loved, because we all have different love languages, and my idea of a loving gesture might be different from my friends.

Loving life is hard for me. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety, and even on the good days, I still feel somewhat anxious that I am unworthy of love or am annoying. I am going to work on loving every day, even the bad days.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you are involved in various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But you must let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to everyone generously without a rebuke, and it will be given to him.

-James 1:2-5

I’m still working on self confidence, but I know that I am a super cool person with a whole lot of love to give, and I think that makes me awesome.

I hope all of you have had a great start to your 2018!! Let me know what your word of the year is in the comments below. 🙂

Also, I’ve started a t-shirt company! This sweatshirt is one of my designs. Check it out at simplybetees.com
